Electrolyte storage tank

Electrolyte storage tank, also known as electrolyzer, is a container used to store electrolyte, which plays a vital role in the electrolysis process. Electrolytic cells are usually composed of a tank body, an anode and a cathode, and most of them are separated by a diaphragm to prevent mixing of the electrolyte. According to the different electrolytes, electrolytic cells can be divided into three categories: aqueous electrolytic cells, molten salt electrolytic cells and non-aqueous electrolytic cells.

When direct current passes through the electrolytic cell, oxidation reaction occurs at the interface between the anode and the solution, and reduction reaction occurs at the interface between the cathode and the solution, thereby producing the desired product. Thus, an electrolyser is a machine that converts electrical energy directly into chemical or thermal energy.

Electrolytic cells are widely used in many fields, such as metal smelting, electroplating, chlorine production and water treatment. In metal smelting, electrolytic cells extract metal ions from ore or scrap and reduce them to pure metals or alloys. In the electroplating industry, the electrolytic cell is used to form a protective film on the metal surface, which plays the role of anti-corrosion and beautification. In the process of chlorine production, the electrolyzer can electrolyze the salt solution to produce chlorine, and at the same time can also produce hydrogen and sodium hydroxide. In the field of water treatment, electrolyzers can convert harmful substances in water into harmless substances, purify water quality, and play a role in preventing pollution and deodorization.
